PORT TERMINAL
DU VERDON

The Le Verdon site, a true deep-water outer harbor, boasts a vast amount of quayside land and a 12,000 m² hangar. It is dedicated in particular to bulk industrial traffic (aggregates, etc.), heavy lift and Ro-Ro logistics (vehicles).
It can also accommodate cruise ships of any size and with no tidal constraints.

With an area of 59 ha, the Verdon site has been designated by the French government as a "turnkey industrial site" in 2021. turnkey industrial site "This label is designed to facilitate set-up procedures. It also benefits from simplified customs procedures.

Thanks to its strategic position, its nautical capacities and its ready-to-use facilities, the Verdon-sur-Mer terminal is a major site for the development of offshore renewable energies (wind turbines and floating wind turbines). A rail link connects the port terminal directly to the Bordeaux metropolitan area.

Finally, the commissioning of a 35 MWp solar farm is scheduled for 2027. The electricity it generates will be used primarily by industrial companies located on the port's land, under purchase-by-agreement contracts.

PORT TERMINAL
D'AMBÈS

At the confluence of the Dordogne and Garonne rivers, the Ambès terminal is one of 18 chemical platforms identified by the French government. Mainly equipped for the transit and storage of energy and chemical products, it is one of Bordeaux Port Authority's major assets. It is located in a highly sought-after area with an industrial water network, a 400 kV electrical transformer station and a strong culture of technological risk prevention.

It has thus naturally become the heart of the ZIBAC (Zone Industrielle Bas-Carbone - Low-Carbon Industrial Zone), a winning project of the France 2030 program and supported by the association BEES-ZIP with the aim of decarbonizing the region and developing "post-fossil fuel" activities.

Today, almost 4 million tonnes of fuel pass through the terminal every year, with a growing proportion of biosourced molecules, making Ambès the most important energy hub in the southwest of France.

An industrial-port zone at the heart of the region's low-carbon strategy.

PORT TERMINAL
DE BASSENS

Located on the right bank of the river, the Bassens terminal handles most of the traffic handled and is a major logistics hub, surrounding a vast industrial port zone. Spread over more than 3 km of quays with the latest generation of high-performance tools, the site's activities are varied: recycling traffic, cereals, oilseeds, industrial bulk, forestry products, heavy-duty parcels, new-generation energy products...

Companies based in Bassens invest every year in this major development hub, which handles more than a third of port traffic. An investment plan for 2021 has expanded the container terminal's capacity to nearly 80,000 TEU per year. The GPMB is also developing its rail activities in support of multimodality (operational load D, track refurbishment on Bassens amont and creation of a multimodal terminal) and plans to refurbish its port warehouses to meet all market needs, in particular the storage of products requiring compliance with ICPE 1510 or 1530 regulations.

Thanks to investments made by the port in terms of handling equipment and suitable storage space, activities linked to second-life materials have been developing rapidly over the past 5 years (scrap metal, crushed glass, shredded tires, wood waste, etc.).

The Bassens industrial-port zone is home to over 3,000 jobs.
