VIGIE (VIGIEsip, GIE VIGIE)
VIGIEsip is a "Port Community System", a computerized system enabling all port stakeholders to work together in complete safety.
VIGIEsip covers all the processes involved in a ship's port of call, while facilitating the completion of regulatory reporting formalities.
VIGIEsip, at the service of port activity
VIGIEsip is aimed at declarants (ship captains or representatives, forwarding agents), port officers, port managers and all service providers involved in a ship's call:
- Declaratory formalities required by the European one-stop-shop directive, including hazardous materials and waste,
- Exchanges with administrations and private information systems (shipping lines, port software, Cargo Community System),
- Navigation monitoring (interfaces with radar systems, geolocation management (Automatic Identification System),
- Integration of navigation information,
- Managing port calls and interactions with port professionals,
- Port statistics.
This stopover management software relies entirely on open-source software bricks and the most modern software development methods (Responsive Design, Scrum approach) to obtain a simple, ergonomic application that meets operational needs and integrates naturally into computerized supply chain exchanges.
Its cloud-based access eliminates the need for any hardware investment, and offers a high level of availability (99.90%).

The one-stop shop is VIGIEsip
VIGIEsip focuses on user services, and incorporates regulatory changes resulting from European directives, high-performance hotline management backed up by a wiki, tools for generating "Eurostat" statistics, and new facilities for declarations from ships (AnNa file). The tool is RGS (Référentiel Général de Sécurité) approved.
Simplification is not just a matter of software:
User service is available by telephone on 05 56 90 59 00 and by mail to support@vigie-ports.fr
Comprehensive user manual and Frequently Asked Questions are available to ports and their users 24 hours a day, 7 days a week: CLICK HERE
EXEMPLARY DEVELOPMENT
Regularly cited as an example of innovative development, and launched at a very early stage to anticipate European regulations, Bordeaux's electronic one-stop shop is the fruit of an unprecedented partnership between customs, the port and its professionals.
An asset for tourism and the cruise industry
VIGIEsip software is used by all maritime and river cruise professionals for two purposes:
・Know real-timetraffic in the navigation basin (liners docked or in motion).
・Permitmaritime shipowners, via their agents, to make a reservation request for a stopover at one or more port terminals or piers in the area, and globally coordinate river cruise activity throughout the Gironde, Garonne and Dordogne estuaries.
GIE VIGIE ports
Nine French port authorities managing 15 ports have founded the VIGIE ports Economic Interest Grouping, in particular to use VIGIEsip, the port information system of the Port of Bordeaux, to simplify maritime trade and to comply with the European one-stop-shop directive.
The Atlantic seaboard (metropolitan and overseas ports), as well as the ports of the Languedoc-Roussillon region, are taking part in this mutualization scheme. Since then, 5 other French port authorities have joined the GIE (find out more about current GIE members).
As the designer and developer of VIGIEsip, the GIE team is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the port information system, and for the design and development of new functions requested by GIE members.
GIE VIGIE ports is the ideal way of replicating VIGIEsip in other ports in France: all you have to do is join.
