LE PAVILLON, BORDEAUX PORT CENTER
THE PAVILION - BORDEAUX PORT CENTER IS A DYNAMIC SPACE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND DEDICATED TO INTER-PRETATION OF THE PORT AND RIVER, CURRENTLY LOCATED ON THE 1ST FLOOR OF THE G2 BUILDING IN THE BASSINS À FLOT.
Accessible to all, this venue is a joint initiative of Bordeaux Port, Bordeaux Métropole and the Union Maritime et Portuaire de Bordeaux to create a bridge between citizens, their port and the river. The Port Center is a place for mediation, dialogue and discovery.
What is a port center?
A port center is a space offering exhibitions, educational events and field visits.
Open all year round, it offers the public the chance to discover, understand and experience today's port and industrial activities.
The port centers are part of a worldwide network of port centers accredited by the International Association of Cities and Ports (IACP)They can be found in port cities such as Antwerp, Bilbao, Le Havre, Montreal, Marseille and many others.
A place for mediation with all publics
Since June 2025, Pavillon - Bordeaux Port Center has moved into its temporary premises on the second floor of the G2 building in Les Bassins à flot.
It offers exhibitions, educational events, meetings and serves as a starting point for field visits. The Pavillon shares this space with the Bordeaux Maritime History Museum.
Pending the opening of the definitive building (which will be located in the heart of the Bassins à flot district), activities are also being carried out off-site, on the quays and online.
Events bearing the Pavillon - Bordeaux Port Center label, ranging from school visits, exhibitions during the European Heritage Days, meetings with local residents in Bassens, artistic works and mapping... not forgetting the introduction of an immersive virtual tour of the port area.
Creating links with young audiences, opening up the port to citizens, raising awareness and transmitting the values of maritime and port culture... these are the ambitions of Pavillon - Bordeaux Port Center.
