JOB DESCRIPTION

Located on Europe's largest estuary, the Port of Bordeaux enjoys a privileged position on the Atlantic seaboard and at the heart of a major metropolis. With its infrastructure spread over 7 specialized terminals, the GPMB is a key player in the regional economy of New Aquitaine.

The company's industrial port activities are in line with the principles of sustainable development, which combine environmental protection, personal safety and economic development.

As part of the Strategy and Planning Department (DSA), the work-study engineer will be under the responsibility of a manager who will help him/her to identify his/her professional objectives and support him/her in the development of his/her skills through a work program adapted to both pedagogical objectives and those of the port.

As part of his/her apprenticeship or professionalization contract, he/she will contribute to deploying the program validated by the Commission Locale de l'Eau (CLE) of the Estuaire SAGE (Schéma d'Aménagement et de Gestion des Eaux) by improving existing digital tools.

 

MISSIONS :

II/She will be responsible for the following tasks:

・Record all available data required for the Estuary SAGE and identify additional data needs

・Participate in the evaluation of the capacities of the Jumeaux Numériques du Fleuve (JNDF), an Open Source tool developed by the GPMB, with regard to the needs of users contributing to the Estuary SAGE.

・Contribute to the drafting of a program aimed at meeting users' needs both in terms of the data to be collected, their interoperability, and the functionalities to be developed within JNDF.

・With the support of DDI Management and in particular the JNDF project manager: implement new JNDF functionalities stemming from the above program.

 

And facilitate the expansion of the JNDF PROFILE community:

・Ansuring user support

・Taking charge of training and user support (technical and functional)

・Management of user accounts and associated resources (digital resources, calculation credits, etc.)

・Participate in dissemination activities (conferences, workshops, reports, etc.)

・Contribute to setting up an operational structure for managing digital tools

 

PROFILE : 

You are training as a multi-skilled engineer in the field of water and numerical modeling. Ex: Bordeaux INP engineer (ENSEGID, МАТМЕСА, etc) or equivalent.

 

You have the following key technical skills:

・Awareness of the impacts of climate change and water resources

・Scientific and technical culture complemented by a body of economic, social and human knowledge

・Knowledge and understanding of IT concepts (cloud computing, digital modeling, Python scripts, Gitlab, APIs, etc.)

・Project management

 

You can demonstrate :

・Struthfulness, organization, autonomy and adaptability,

・Open-minded, communicative,

・Of curiosity and anticipation.

 

THIS POSITION IS AVAILABLE ON A 1 OR 2-YEAR APPRENTICESHIP CONTRACT.
