Geomatics Technician (M/F)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Port of Bordeaux is looking for a Geomatics Technician to work as a part-time apprentice in the Environment Department's Geomatics Division. Reporting to the Pôle manager, he/she will organize and develop the Bordeaux Port Authority 's data assets as part of his/her apprenticeship or professionalization contract.

MISSIONS :

II/She will be responsible for the following main tasks:

・Administration of PostgreSQL/PostGIS-type databases, and map servers (Geoserver, Qgis-Server),

・Pursue deployment of WebSIG solutions (Lizmap, Qgis Web),

・Design, develop, maintain and administer geographic databases,

・Assist users, in particular by identifying their needs, in formatting and managing their business data,

・Valorize data assets and organize them to facilitate access for the various players, Production of cartographic documents.

PROFILE : 

You have a degree or diploma in geomatics, cartography and/or topography.

You have the following key technical skills:

・Current use of GIS tools (QGIS and Autocad Map)

・Mastery of relational databases (PostgreSQL/...) and geographic data processing tools.

・Knowledge of geodesy, topography and cadastre.

Knowledge of the following areas would be a plus:

・Programming skills (Shell/Windows scripting/Automation)

・Graphic design skills (Adobe Illustrator)

・Regular reporting to line management.
