The European Heritage Days took place at several Bordeaux Port Authority sites, welcoming young and old alike for 3 days of discovery.

A dense program for 3 days of immersion in maritime and port issues!

• - On Friday September 19, Bordeaux's new port center opened its doors to the general public for the first time.
  After a stroll through its educational rooms and the viewing of a film presenting the journey of a ship through the estuary, participants were able to enter the naval hub of the Bassins à flot (usually closed to the public) for a guided tour of the historic infrastructures still essential to the life of the river (quays, dry docks...).

• - On Saturday September 20, around a hundred visitors had the opportunity to discover the Bassens terminal and its various strategic activities for the regional economy. After a welcome at the harbor master's office, the nerve center of maritime traffic surveillance, the participants were able to see the various port installations and tools, the goods transported and stored, and learn more about the various trades essential to welcoming ships. These bus tours, organized in several departures throughout the day, offered young and old alike a unique experience exploring both the past and future of Bassens' maritime heritage.

• - And all weekend long, visitors to the Espace Culturel Jean Parès in Le Verdon-sur-Mer were able to discover or rediscover the "100 Years in 100 Photos" exhibition celebrating 100 years since the creation of the port facility.

Activities organized by the Bordeaux Port Authority, including visits to the naval hub, discoveries of port trades, an immersive virtual flight over the Bassens terminal, a demonstration of the Jumeaux Numériques du Fleuve, a trip aboard the dredger L'Ostréa and an archive exhibition entitled "Le Port 100 ans en 100 photos" delighted young and old alike during two sunny days of discovery and conviviality.

The moving debate organized at Cap Sciences in partnership with the Pavillon-Bordeaux Port Center also put participants right at the heart of river freight issues and projects, highlighting the diversity of opinions expressed.

All in all, a great opportunity for the people of Bordeaux and the surrounding area to learn more about the port's environment, challenges and projects. Welcoming the public to the "flagship" Traverse site in the Bassins à flot also enabled port teams to present the future site of the Pavillon - Bordeaux Port Center, a space for discovery, encounters, exhibitions, visits and dialogue around the port environment expected by 2028.

In the meantime, temporary premises will open shortly on the^1st floor of building G2.

On June 25, the first room of the temporary Pavillon - Bordeaux Port Center premises was inaugurated at Hangar G2 in the Bassins à flot. The event brought together numerous port stakeholders and institutional representatives, to discover the premises and the project jointly supported by Bordeaux Métropole, Bordeaux Port and the Union Maritime et Portuaire de Bordeaux.
